Projects

This set of poster + flyer + booklet was made for the first Women of Color in Public Service Symposium at the Harvard Kennedy School. The challenge was to show how the symposium was different from other kinds of policy-oriented events. I combined a profile of Nina Simone and drew inspiration from a famous Bob Dylan poster to create something new. The black and white image was used for smaller fliers and as the cover for a brochure. The booklet was given away.
I was asked by the Yoko Ono studio to help them conceptualize a postcard edition. The original idea was to make a tree sculpture, and then possibly a website, but in the end Yoko Ono wanted to make an open edition of 10,000 postcards. The cards had a personal message that referred to her project called "Wish Tree." I scanned her artwork and laid out the card. I also found a low cost printer for the job.

The CUE Art Foundation had a series of events and the challenge here was to generate interest with a simple yet eye-catching design that would stand out. I decided to their phrase and make it literal.
To draw more attention to an otherwise ordinary meeting about the Census, I made the announcement resemble a movie poster. To do this I combined two images of people standing around and then made everything a silhouette.
